Sinus headaches are defined as a result of infection in the Para nasal sinuses. The pain is constant and it can continue to 2-3 days. It affects both the males and females. In this article we will discuss on the cause, symptom and treatment of sinus headache.

Sinus headaches have many causes. The primary cause is the lining the sinuses by the inflammation of the tissues. Those inflamed tissues get swelled and produce secretions which create blockage the drainage system of sinuses. The result of the result of this blockage is build-up fluid and the secretion. The huge pressure of this fluid causes the sinus pain. This inflammation of sinuses is known as sinusitis and it can cause for an allergic reaction, infection, irritation etc. the infectious sinusitis is cause for a viral infection but fungal and bacterial infections may also occur. As the maxillary sinuses are situated in cheekbone, the infection of upper teeth can expand to the sinuses. It is rare but it can happen that the malignant or benign tumors can attack and encroach and the block drainage of the sinuses and it lead to sinus headache. The symptoms of sinus headache are fever, chills, and pain in the jaw, tiredness and body aches.

Sinus headaches have many treatments and medicines all over the world. The treatment is actually two-pronged. Treat the pain and the causes also. Using the over-the-counter pain reliever as most of the pain killers do not work before 30 minutes. Trying other medicines like the medicines of antihistamine allergy can help in this case. Try to keep the nasal passages moist by using any kind of nasal spray. Using nasal irrigation and avoiding irritants. Perfume, body spray, cigarette and specific types of chemicals can make the sinus headache condition worse. One can use prescribed medicine and that is the best.
